We are living in tumultuous times...
Western societies are fracturing after decades of naïveté. Russia has committed itself to war at all costs. The Iranian regime is stoking the flames of Islamism. China is eying up TSMC’s chip fabs in Taiwan. AI is evolving at breakneck speed. Major cyberattacks are constant. Even in the UK war feels like when, not if.
Yet, despite all this, business owners, the driving force of the economy, are cracking on; grafting to grow their businesses and navigate the shifting sands. Technology is providing many answers, but creating complex problems. Few really understand their systems as they are busy running their business; they want it all to ‘just work’ (and not cost too much)!
It's these business owners that Patching was created to serve...
Now, by creating a company and a brand, Patching sounds very 'we', but for now Patching is just me, Rob. I have been on an eclectic journey over the last 15 years since leaving the Army and have faced many of the challenges business owners face. I now find myself in a position to take more personal risk, and so my focus is now to help people ‘fix their stuff’ and reduce cyber risk as cost effectively as possible.
Most companies want to appear big, and show off the size of their team. Personally I believe in running lean teams of highly competent people heavily leveraging technology. Being a solo founder is a superpower; I can be super responsive, agile and work at pace, but I can also hibernate and work on other client projects when you need to focus on something else or are awaiting budget approval - you only pay for the time you use. I can work from investor/board level, down to ‘on the tools’ config. I have a broad network of expert partners, vendors and suppliers who I will happily introduce for you to work directly with; my only revenue comes from clients to keep interests aligned. Patching itself has an enterprise grade tech stack to keep me current, show you what good looks like, and how things work.
