Rob Tregaskes — Forged in the Army; proven across banking, startups and private equity
The Army shaped Rob's instincts — but it's the fifteen years since that matter. After leaving as a Captain in 2010, he worked inside RBS Investment Bank through significant operating model change, completed an MBA, built a startup that failed, then joined another as employee number three and helped scale it to sixty people. In 2020 he moved into Private Equity — portfolio companies first, then fund level. He knows how founders, operators, and investors each think.
Patching works with Founders and Business Owners who are serious about getting their house in order. For smaller teams, that usually looks like fractional IT management — someone senior running the foundations while you run the business. For larger or investor-backed teams, it's vCISO advisory — owning security posture, passing diligence, and holding up under institutional scrutiny. Rob leads every engagement personally. Where specialist or additional resource is needed, Patching brings a trusted network — but Rob remains accountable and present throughout.
Patching is also AI-native. Rob builds and runs agentic AI workflows throughout his own business. He understands the gap between experimenting with AI tools and deploying AI that actually executes — and he can help you bridge it without the risk of getting it wrong.
