Who owns the code and intellectual property?

You do, 100%. All code is mastered in your GitHub repositories and deployed directly into your Microsoft Azure tenant. Even if we do a first prototype build in our environment, it will then be cloned to your GitHub and deployed from there with our standard Terms of Business granting you explicit ownership. Patching holds no proprietary lock-in, licensing claims, or hosting dependencies over your software.

We built a prototype in Lovable/Replit — why can't we just use that in production?

Vibe coding platforms are fantastic for rapid exploration, proving ideas and personal projects, but they occupy an awkward middle ground for corporate IT. They neither offer the contractual guarantees of SaaS, nor the clear control and ownership that enterprise IT requires. As such we migrate your prototype into clean, maintainable code deployed in your controlled environment, which is then just as easy to iterate on as it was in the vibe coding platform.

Why do you emphasize CLIs so much in agentic development?

When AI coding agents have access to well-structured CLIs (like the Azure Developer CLI, Azure CLI, or GitHub CLI), they can perform complex multi-step orchestration without brittle UI clicks. Agents can generate Infrastructure as Code, validate configuration, deploy cloud resources, and test endpoints deterministically. Crucially, this means your GitHub repo can store the version controlled master design of your app, including its deployed infrastructure, and you can understand it in plain english with GitHub Copilot.

How does Microsoft Foundry help prevent 'agent sprawl'?

Without proper governance, AI agents can become difficult to oversee, leading to increased cost, security, and compliance risks.
